Dr Kim Chiew qualified in Sheffield, United Kingdom in 1983, and during her time working at University Hospital in Kuala Lumpur she travelled to Edinburgh in 1988 to complete the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). She migrated to Melbourne in 1988 and has been in general practice ever since — over 35 years of dedicated, relationship-based GP work in Melbourne.
As a Vocationally Registered General Practitioner, Dr Chiew brings a depth of experience to every consultation. Her clinical special interests span women’s health across all life stages, osteoporosis, children’s health, asthma, diabetes, and high blood pressure. She has a particular skill for working with patients who have complex, chronic conditions requiring careful, coordinated management over time.
Beyond English, Dr Chiew is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, Teochew, and Hokkien — a significant asset for the practice and the local community. She has built long-term relationships with many families across generations, and her patients keep coming back because she listens, she remembers, and she follows through.
Outside the clinic she is a dedicated gardening enthusiast with a particular love of succulents, and she has recently discovered a passion for Latin dancing.
