Dr Joanna Teo completed her medical degree at the University of Melbourne and then completed her post-graduate studies for the FRACGP qualification, becoming a specialist GP. She works part-time in general practice and loves the variety that the role brings.
Jo’s clinical special interests are in mental health, paediatrics, and women’s health areas she finds both challenging and deeply rewarding. She takes a whole-person approach to care, understanding that each of these areas intersects with the others, and she works with her patients to develop plans that address the full picture of their health.
She speaks Hokkien and Malay in addition to English, which helps her connect with patients from a range of backgrounds in the local community.
Outside work she is married with two young boys, and she fills her time outside the clinic with baking and cooking.
